Dr. Sandra K. Winn is the faculty associate for outcomes assessment. Her responsibilities are to assist with the assessment of the college's undergraduate programs. This work includes conducting the Assessment in the Major, the General Education Assessment Review, and consult on various school assessment planning. Sandy also mentors students and teaches in international programs. Her home school is Arts and Humanities.
She has a B.A. with a double major in communication and education from Western State Colorado University. Her masters’ degree is in educational administration and policy studies and her doctorate is in Humanistic Studies from SUNY Albany, NY. Her doctorate is interdisciplinary, where she blended the two fields of study that she loves: education and communication. Sandy has taught since 1986 starting with high school and later moving into higher education. She taught ESL in Japan for six years and achieved a TESOL certificate from McKendree University's Tokyo campus. Sandy has been teaching while working in administration the last nine years and her interests have focused on creating programming and improving educational systems. Her interests lie in civil rights, organizational change, program and curriculum development, strategic planning, and the organizational systems of educational institutions. Sandy won the Founders' Award from the National Association for Multicultural Education for her work in education justice. In 2018, she was awarded a fellowship from the American Association of Colleges and University to participate in the China Studies Institute, which is a three-week educational program in Shanghai, Xi-an, and Bejing.
