Rebecca Eliseo-Arras

Rebecca Eliseo-Arras holds a PhD and a MSW from the University at Buffalo’s (UB) School of Social Work. She also obtained her BA in Psychology and Political Science from UB. She has extensive research experience in addictions and maladaptive coping mechanisms. She is an Associate Professor and Academic Coordinator in the School Human Services. She teaches courses on cyberbullying, addictions, the influence of social media on coping behaviors, research methods, and crisis intervention. Her research focuses on addictions and other forms of maladaptive coping mechanisms, specifically non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), and the influence of trauma and social media on these behaviors. In addition, she has an extensive background in research project execution and methodology through her work as Project Coordinator within UB’s Division of Behavioral Medicine on a multi-site federally funded grant, and as Team Leader/Senior Research Analyst at the Research Institute on Addictions (RIA).
