Paul Miller

Paul Miller is an associate professor of historical studies at SUNY Empire State College. Paul’s research and teaching interests include a broad swath of the American experience with emphasis on the political choices and cultural experiences of working people as well as sports and physical culture. Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Massachusetts/Boston, where he won the Paul F. Boller Prize in history, and a Master’s and Ph.D. in history from Binghamton University. His courses scaffold activities to move from an understanding of academic processes to higher levels of reflection that uncover analogies between past and present. He has spent thirty years mentoring adults of different abilities and expectations. He held leadership positions at the History Center (Ithaca) and the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum (Boston). Formerly, he was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutter’s and Butcher Workmen of North America.
