DAVID STARR-GLASS
David initially earned an undergraduate degree in Botany from the University of Glasgow (Scotland). On moving to northern California (Silicon Valley) he shifted career, earned a degree in Business and Accounting, and worked for a number of years as an accountant in both the retail and high-tech sectors. He moved with his family to Israel in 1983.
David joined the International Programs (Israel) of SUNY Empire State University as an adjunct assistant professor and mentor in Business and Economics in 1984. He remained with that program until its closure in 2001, at which time he was reassigned to the International Program in Prague. In this position he is a senior mentor advising students, an instructor in Management and Organizational Behavior, and an undergraduate dissertation supervisor.
He has subsequently earned master’s degrees in Business Administration, Occupational Psychology, and Online Education. In line with his interest in cross-cultural exploration, teaching, and learning, these three degrees were earned on three different continents (North America, Europe, and Australia). Over the last twenty five years he has published three books (including and autobiography) and more than 120 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. David also acts as a peer reviewer with a number of Management and International Business journals.
In 2010, David received the SUNY Empire State University Award for Excellence in Part-time Mentoring and, in the same year, served as the Scholar Across the College.
When not visiting Prague, David lives in Jerusalem, where he also teaches undergraduate Economics and Management courses with a number of local colleges.
